Alternative Dispute Resolution - Many disputes can be resolved more quickly, efficiently and fairly using alternative dispute resolution. This has led in recent years to a dramatic increase in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques. Mr. Joe is strongly committed to providing this alternative resource to his clients and the rest of the business and legal community.

Mr. Joe dedicates himself to quickly identifying core and controlling issues in even the most complex disputes, and providing a frank and fair analysis of those issues to help the parties reach a resolution. He also has the experience necessary to suggest the most effective resolution technique for a particular dispute, and the proficiency to implement these techniques. Even in those instances where the parties cannot successfully resolve their dispute, they usually gain a much better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their respective positions. This greater understanding, in turn, generally simplifies the issues for trial and facilitates the ultimate resolution of the dispute.

Asset Protection - In addition to setting up corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, Mr. Joe can set up Family Limited Partnerships, Land Trusts, Personal Property Trusts, and other entities and strategies for lawsuit, tax, and asset protection.

Federal Indian Law - Mr. Joe has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the Navajo Nation and understands the unique legal principles that govern Native American groups and individuals.

Mr. Joe has been involved in matters including land ownership, economic development, and gaming. He has also represented borrowers and other businesses that do business on reservations. His work has involved Indian sovereign immunity issues, federal and state jurisdiction, and the function of tribal courts in resolving commercial disputes among Indian individuals and businesses.

Legislative Services - Mr. Joe has extensive experience working closely with the executive and legislative representatives of the Navajo Nation, the U. S. Congress, the states of Arizona and New Mexico. Mr. Joe has worked with the state of Arizona to secure over $17 million in capital improvement funds to be used to improve post secondary educational facilities. A compact had to be drafted, revised, negotiated, and finalized with the state concerning the receipt and expenditure of those funds.

Corporate & business services - Mr. Joe's practice consists of providing business legal services, which covers incorporations, inceptions of limited liability companies, forming partnerships (general and limited), contracts formation, etc. He also provides legal services to ongoing business entities.

Commercial Transactions & Commercial Litigation - Mr. Joe also provides legal services to ongoing businesses and entities involving multi million dollar commercial transactions and commercial litigation. That work includes drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts, agreements, memorandums of understandings, credit and loan agreements, notes payables, security agreements, manufacturing agreements, licensing agreements, management agreements, commercial and business leases, and commercial master leases. A recent completed case involved issues relating to the work of a developer that was hired to develop a forty thousand square foot commercial office and retail building. Mr. Joe also handles business torts cases involving issues of fraud, interference with contract, and interference with prospective business advantage.

Personal Injury - Mr. Joe handles a number of personal injury, tort, negligence, and wrongful death cases. Personal injury cases include serious auto accidents, insurance claims, semi tractor trailer truck accidents, construction accidents, etc.

Construction Litigation - Mr. Joe also represents clients in various construction litigation cases in Navajo, state, and federal courts throughout the southwest United States. The construction issues include construction delays, defaults, defects, surety (bonding) issues, and bid protests. He has litigated construction cases that involved over ten million dollars in commercial and subdivision development. The cases involve multi residential housing unit construction, motel and restaurant construction, commercial buildings, and retail/office buildings. A current case involves a retail and office building that was defectively constructed.

Employment Law - Mr. Joe has extensive experience representing employers and employees regarding personnel and employment matters. He has represented clients before the Navajo Nation Labor Commission, the U. S. District Court for the District of Arizona, and the EEOC on personnel and employment related matters. He is therefore experienced with governmental personnel laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Non Profit Organizations - Mr. Joe has formed and represented 501(c)(3) organizations. Several of his current clients are also nonprofit organizations. Another client is a post-secondary educational institution.

IRS Tax Problems - Mr. Joe represents and assists individuals and businesses that have a controversy with the Internal Revenue Service regarding income, employment, or other related taxes. This work includes penalty abatements, assessments and officers in compromises, liens & levies, property seizures, installment payment agreements, innocent spouse and third party collection issues, trust fund recovery, and other related tax issues.

Appellate Work - Mr. Joe has performed civil appellate work before the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U. S. Supreme Court, and the Navajo Nation Supreme Court.
